Valadorna

Race by Stonestreet Stables | Training Graduate

Racing as a homebred, Valadorna made her debut at Churchill Downs, where she finished a fast-closing second. She then broke her maiden with an impressive six-length romp at Keeneland. From that effort, she graduated to graded stakes company during one of the biggest weekends in the racing world. In just her third career start, the Curlin filly finished second by three-quarters of a length in the G1 14 Hands Winery Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies at Santa Anita. In her first start as a three-year-old, she conquered an allowance at Fair Grounds before contesting the G2 Rachel Alexandra Stakes. She raced wide and made a bold move in the stretch before being caught in the final strides and finishing third. She took some time off from the track and returned to finish second behind stablemate Mannerly in an allowance at Churchill Downs. In a triumphant return to Fair Grounds, she won back to back victories in an allowance and the Tiffany Lass Stakes to close out her season. She won her first graded stakes race as a four-year-old in 2018 when she powered home to take the G3 Doubledogdare Stakes at Keeneland. She switched to the turf for the remainder of her career and finished just a neck behind Insta Erma in the G3 Kentucky Downs Ladies Turf Stakes. Valadorna retired with 5 wins in 14 starts and earnings of $670,265.

Valadorna is by leading sire Curlin, sire of champion Good Magic, and classic winners Palace Malice and Exaggerator. Her dam is the homebred Yes It’s True mare Goldfield who in turn is out of Folly Dollar, one of the earliest members of the Stonestreet broodmare band. Valadorna’s half-brother is G1 winner Complexity.
