Stonestreet Farm is a global leader in the breeding, raising, and racing of Thoroughbreds. Consistently the leading commercial breeder by gross yearling sales in North America, the program is defined by a commitment to producing athletes with strength, stamina, and class.
Established by Jess Stonestreet Jackson in 2005, Stonestreet was built on the belief that great horses begin with exceptional land, horsemanship, and uncompromising standards. That vision was realized early with two-time Horse of the Year Curlin and Horse of the Year Rachel Alexandra—elite performers acquired and campaigned by Stonestreet who became foundational to the young breeding program, setting its direction and establishing the standard of athlete it would go on to produce.
Today the broodmare band is built on elite racetrack performance and strong female families, strengthened by retaining top fillies and selectively acquiring proven producers and high-end young mares. Mating decisions are made with a focus on pedigree compatibility, physical balance, and long-term results.
The program is further supported through our ownership in an expansive roster of stallions, including Curlin, Good Magic, and Maclean’s Music—ensuring influence across generations.
Stonestreet’s responsibility to the horse extends beyond its racing and breeding career. Retirees not entering the breeding program are placed with New Vocations Racehorse Adoption Program for retraining, with Stonestreet remaining financially responsible. Broodmares retire into the farm’s “Golden Girls” herd, where they are cared for and remain at Stonestreet for life.
Under the leadership of Barbara Banke, the farm continues to perform on the world stage—from Lady Aurelia’s victories at Royal Ascot to Good Magic breaking his maiden in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile, and Clairiere’s rivalry with fellow Stonestreet-bred Malathaat. A legacy of our founder, our focus remains on what comes next.
