∽ Cartier Two-Year-Old Filly of the Year - 2016
A homebred champion, Lady Aurelia made an electrifying debut at Keeneland, setting a track record for 4.5 furlongs and earning TDN Rising Star honors. She quickly rose to international prominence, capturing the Queen Mary Stakes (G2) at Royal Ascot and the Darley Prix Morny (G1) at Deauville, becoming Stonestreet’s first Group 1 winner in France. Her juvenile brilliance earned her the Cartier Award for Champion Two-Year-Old Filly, the first ever for an American-trained horse.
At three, she defeated older horses in the Giant’s Causeway Stakes (L) at Keeneland before returning to Royal Ascot to win the King’s Stand Stakes (G1). She closed her career with a narrow second in the Coolmore Nunthorpe Stakes (G1) and a runner-up finish in her 2018 Giant’s Causeway return. She retired with 5 wins in 10 starts and $834,945 in earnings, including 4 black-type victories across the U.S., England, and France.
By Scat Daddy, sire of international champions including Justify, No Nay Never, and Mendelssohn, Lady Aurelia descends from a powerful female line. Her dam, D’ Wildcat Speed, was Puerto Rico’s Horse of the Year and a multiple graded stakes winner in the U.S.
Lady Aurelia’s first foal, American Rascal (c., 2021 by Curlin), followed in her footsteps with a ten-length debut win and TDN Rising Star status. He earned his first stakes win in the Zia Park Juvenile Stakes (L) and placed second in the Sugar Bowl Stakes (L).
